Manar Mazhar sheds light on "City Museum" project

Manar Mazhar, Museum Studies Researcher, said that museums are not only a place for exhibiting old objects but it is also a place for preserving heritage as they reflect the culture of the society.

Mazhar mentioned, during an interview with (Nile Cruise) program, that her project (City Museum) mainly reflects the social and cultural life of Khedival Cairo.

She added that the museum should concentrate on the people and their stories and way of life.

She pointed out that she prepared the designs of the showrooms and the lighting and the diorama of the museum.

Further, she stressed that her vision of the museum is depicting the life of ordinary people so that it can live in our memories forever.

She finally said that using modern technology in exhibiting the items is very important, adding that the museum should also be inside Cairo as its main concern is Cairo's heritage.
